RF Microneedling

Are you looking to target and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars for flawless, rejuvenated skin?

Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling is the next generation, minimally-invasive microneedling treatment that delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis layer of skin and stimulates the natural skin healing process to increase collagen and elastin for a younger, firmer and rejuvenated skin.

The procedure involves creation of several, tiny, micro-channels. The advanced technology of flow needles deliver RF energy deep into the skin to heat the skin. This not only stimulates collagen growth but also encourages tissue tightening. Collagen production results in younger looking, rejuvenated skin, while tissue tightening encourages reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and even acne scars.

RF Microneedling

The RF microneedling system is a minimally-invasive fractional bi-polar system dual-technology system that combines the revolutionary RF technology with the latest microneedling treatment for significant skin rejuvenation and tightening results. The system uses RF energy in conjunction with minimally invasive micro-needles to enable effective, non-surgical, skin tightening with little to no downtime.

During treatment, heat is delivered deep into the layers of your skin to stimulate and increase collagen and initiate regeneration of elastin cells. The goal of the procedure is to target skin imperfections and create micro-injuries to initiate the release of growth factors and stimulate the body’s own natural healing process to produce collagen for more youthful firm and rejuvenated skin.

Traditional Microneedling vs RF Microneedling

Traditional microneedling involves a special device that produces micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing response and initiate collagen and elastin production, which tightens the skin and reduces the appearance of common skin complaints including acne scarring and fine lines.

RF Microneedling involves an additional element of radiofrequency energy (heat) that enables more dramatic and faster results. The RF energy is delivered deep into the dermis layer of the skin via small needles. The RF energy heats the underlying layers of skin, triggering constriction and enhancing skin tightening. The process stimulates collagen and elastin production, which helps to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and aging signs.

Who is it for?

RF Microneedling is suitable for almost all skin types and tones. The treatment is minimally invasive and can help addressed the following skin concerns:

· Fine lines and facial wrinkles

· Acne scarring

· Surgical scars

· Enlarged pores

· Mild to moderate skin laxity

· Irregular skin texture and tone

· Body skin laxity – stomachs/inner arms/knees

· Stretch Marks

How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments required vary from person to person. This depends on the nature of an individual’s skin concerns and how the body responds to the treatment.

For most patients, full results are achieved after 2-4 treatment sessions, with sessions every 4 - 6 weeks, on average.

Is RF Microneedling painful and how long is the procedure?

To ensure patient’s comfort throughout the procedure, topical anaesthetic is applied before starting the treatment. Some patients can experience a prickling sensation and heat. The treatment can take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

What are the side effects?

The recovery time for RF Microneedling treatment is much shorter than the recovery time for aggressive deep chemical peels or laser resurfacing treatments. Most patients experience mild redness or minor swelling for 1- or 2-days following treatment. You can apply makeup after 24 hours.

Is there downtime following the treatment??

Not usually. Patients usually experience little or no downtime after a RF Microneedling procedure. Patients can usually get back to their usual routine within a day. Makeup can be applied after 24 hours to cover any residual redness. However, be sure to ask your treatment provider for an estimate of downtime for your specific treatment plan.

How long will the results last?

Results can take anywhere from 1 to 6 months to be noticeable, however, many patients achieve full results after their 2nd or 3rd treatment. The longevity of results varies from person to person and depends on the patient’s natural aging process.
